Everybody knows everbody in the world
Recommend Music to FriendsWhy not recommending music to friends, supporting musicians and earning money with it? Benjamin Uebel, chief musician at ForMyBand, explains how to open own shops and help young, ambitious artists on their way to success.
You intend to sell music by music listeners using the slogan „Everybody knows everybody in the world“.
We allude to the so-called small world penomenon which says that all people of our planet are connected with each other by an unexpectedly short chain of personal relations. We want to use this phenomenon to let people recommend and sell music within their social networks. Each listener who recommends music to friends receives a commission for supporting an artist – he/she becomes a music broker. This enables the artists to spread their music and sell it to people they never would have reached otherwise.

I can recommend fresh songs to my music loving friends and earn, besides, money? Can you explain this with an example?
Imagine you discover a jazz band on the ForMyBand web page. You know your old school friend might be amazed about that music. With two clicks you create a personal shop and invite your friend to a short visit. Your school friend is inspired and buys an album. You participate in this album sale by a commission credited to your account. This might be several euros per sold album.
And now the old school friend knows five more jazz fans and recommends the music once more.
Exactly. Maybe the school friend is organised in a jazz community and writes a newsletter to 150 eager jazz fans. There will be some buyers again. Some decide to create a jazz shop on which the most selected jazz new discoveries of the ForMyBand web page are freshly offered by them.
That means the music listeners not only recommend, but also filter the pearls under the participating bands in their own shops? Are you specialised in a certain style of music?
Basically, we want the users to decide which music they like. We are open to all style categories and genres. We even give users the chance to introduce new style categories.
New style categories?
The users can give names to their shops and thus create new music categories. Why not open a shop titled „Music from Women's Bands “? What about a shop named "Music for Motoring “, or „Berlin Summer Air“? We are curious about the user’s creativity.
How does a musician profit, whose music is recommended by his/her listeners?
The musicians share their sales revenues with the supporter who has recommended their music. In return, their music is promoted and sold among new listeners. Artists can win new fans they never would have reached otherwise.
