Why should a band sell their songs with the help of their fans?
Musicians want to become well-known; they want to touch people with their songs. And if they sell even a few albums, everything is fine. At ForMyBand, fans and supporters look to find new listeners and buyers for a band`s music. The band can reach a lot of people and find new listeners using these direct recommendations. To provide that this works, the band shares their income with their supporters.
Can you explain this with an example?
A DJ from Finland uploads his songs on the ForMyBand web page. He sends an email to 25 friends and invites them to stop by. Now, eight friends create their own "shop" on the ForMyBand web page, and resell the DJ’s songs to their friends. Thus the DJ has quickly drawn attention of more than 200 people to his music. Besides, there were certainly some buyers under them.
What should a band do to sell their music on ForMyBand?
The band just needs to register and create a profile, where they can upload their music. That's all. Finally, they should promote their profile to find listeners and supporters.
The musician shares the income with his/her supporters. Why doesn´t he/she looses money doing this?
Far from it! The artists earn even more money, because they sell music to listener which they never would have reached, otherwise. By the way, bands with record contracts also share their income with their label. Here, the fans are the label. The artists do not share their money with the music industry, but with their listeners. Isn’t that a fair deal?
Which amount has the supporters’ participation?
The musicians can decide this on their own. We recommend unknown artists to give supporters halve of their income to quickly attract a great number of supporters. The more artists are willing to share their success, the more supporters they will get.
Can every musician take part in ForMyBand or do you have restrictions? And how do musicians go in for it?
Basically we are open for all music styles. Nevertheless, the musicians must own the entire copyrights of their songs. Hence, cover songs cannot be sold at ForMyBand. To let supporters sell your music, musicians just need to create an artist profile and upload their songs. Works fast and easy.
Do the bands lose song rights if they participate in ForMyBand?
No, ForMyBand puts no restrictions to musicians. We want to offer bands, DJs and solo artists additional chances to become successful with their music. If a musician should not be contented, the songs can be removed any time from the platform. Of courese, the musician still gets the income from music sales.
How do the musicians get their money?
The artists’ income is credited immediately to artists’ account on the profile page after each sale. Any time, they can debit it to the artist’s private bank account.
